    • Agnes Strommen Agnes "Agga" Strommen a long time resident of Bethel, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Pope John Paul Nursing Home in Danbury. She was 101 years old. Agga was born December 13, 1906, the daughter of the late Paul and Agnes (Andersen) Simonsen in Bergen, Norway. She came to the United States in 1924 living on Long Island then moving to Bethel in 1961. She was a well-known artist belonging to the Bethel Art League and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Bethel. A kind and caring woman who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leila and Arthur Summo of Bethel; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Linda Strommen of Glen Cove, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Jill Treadwell, Laurie Strommen and Paul Strommen and his wife, Kendra. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Einar Strommen. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Agga's life on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the First Congregational Church in Bethel at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Connecticut VNA Hospice by Masonic Care, 680 Main Street, Watertown, CT 06779.
